Chitrangda Singh to star with Salman Khan in ‘Battle of Galwan’
The film will dive into the events of June 15-16, 2020, when 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives during a violent face-off with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley.
Chitrangda shared a surprising on-set experience, revealing a very different side of Salman Khan than the one often talked about in the industry. She also couldn’t stop praising ‘Dhurandhar’.

Chitrangda Singh walked onto the stage at the NDTV Yuva 2026, and let’s just say, she did not hold back.
There’s always been chatter around Salman. Late arrivals, stretched schedules, whispers of being “unprofessional.” But Chitrangda had a completely different story to tell.

The two actors share screen space in the upcoming film ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, a project inspired by the tense Galwan Valley clash. While working together, Chitrangda observed a side of Salman that she believes many people don’t talk about enough.

She described him as “amazing,” someone who treats everyone (yes, even crew members) with warmth and respect. According to her, he is approachable, caring, and surprisingly punctual when it matters.
In fact, she revealed that despite rumours about his timing, Salman showed up early on set just because she had an early shoot scheduled. Not exactly the diva behaviour people love to gossip about, right?
While Salman stole a chunk of the conversation, Chitrangda had her own headline-making moment when she spoke about ‘Dhurandhar’.
Calling it “one of the best films made in India in a very long time,” she praised everything from storytelling and direction to performances and attention to detail.
But the real surprise? Acting was never part of her grand life plan.
Chitrangda admitted that she never actively dreamt of becoming an actor. Her journey unfolded almost accidentally that was shaped by opportunities and how people perceived her talent. After her debut in ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’, she was quickly noticed for her ability to portray complex grey characters. Offers started pouring in along those lines and she simply went with the flow.
Over time, she says, she discovered herself through her roles. Each film added a new layer to her personality, helping her understand her craft better. But it wasn’t always straightforward. Balancing different kinds of roles, serious performances and even item songs, came with its own challenges.
Still she looks back at her debut with gratitude, calling it the “best possible role” she could have asked for at the start of her career.
